A lot of people are just okay being comfortable.
These people are not overly ambitious nor do they care about apex level success. If they can eat 3 square meals a day, foot their most basic expenses and put a little aside for a rainy day, then they're good.
Often they have their jobs with nice incomes to enable them survive. They also have to get up to work every day and even though they may sometimes entertain fears of what would happen if they suddenly found themselves out of their jobs, they are not too bothered for the most part.
In short, they make the money to spend but have no real financial independence.
If this is you, you are in a better class than millions of others who are unable to meet even the most basic of their expenses.
Some others are of a completely different mindset though.
These people understand that there's a difference between having class and being wealthy. They know that while one simply earns the money to meet expenses, the other not only has the money for expenses but also has infinite financial independence.
It is in this latter category that they belong. They're the elite few who have succeeded in graduating from class to wealth.
Those of class may make a lot of money. But because they also have a lot of expenses, they're unable to keep much of the money they make. Their mindset is that of making more money so they can have bigger expenses.
But the wealthy understand that it’s not about how high your income is, but how much of that income you can put to profitable use for yourself that's important. And profitable use to them doesn't mean more fancy spending, it means business, investment and any other thing that yields.
This is one of the differences in approach that distinguishes people of class from the wealthy.
Those of class may feel secure in their jobs. They may still be of the obsolete philosophy that the route to eventual freedom is by climbing the corporate ladder, putting in the years and then retiring with a nice pension on which they can leave happily ever after.
But the wealthy know that while that was so perhaps 50 years ago, the rules of the game have changed and being abreast of these changes separates them from the rest. The wealthy know that working for someone else, however long seldom leads to freedom. Instead, they build businesses, make investments and acquire assets that continue to yield returns even without any ongoing interference from them.
Those of class may place emphasis on their education, degrees and book knowledge. They believe that the more education they acquire, the more successful they will be.
But the wealthy know that those with knowledge, skills and ability to get real world results rule the field. As such they're forever improving, working, training, practising and evaluating themselves to ensure that they are the best at what they do. They understand that by being the best in their respective fields and industries, opportunities come to them which they can take advantage of to reap considerably.
The wealthy understand that this is an age where wealth is abundant and accessible by everyone. Anyone can graduate from class to wealth but the right mindsets and approaches are required if this is going to happen.
While it is the reality of those of class that they work for money, the wealthy make money work for them and see their growth as how much of this money they can employ. They know that being able to profitably recycle their wealth in this manner is the true key to freedom.
It is this ability that allows them the luxury to afford the finer things in life without having to work to purchase them, or go into deep debt. They can stay home with the family, travel around the world and engage in spiritual or charity work. Being financially independent, they're free to do whatever they want because they're creating their own income.
People of class are often reluctant to make a wealth-building plan because they don't want to put in the time and effort required to graduate to wealth. Their focus is on instant gratification and they spend their money as soon as they make it.
The wealthy understand that going from class to wealth is a gradual process. Hence, they spend the time necessary to be smart with their money, work hard, build businesses and investments that provide enough regular income to afford them whatever lifestyle they choose to adopt.
People of class also often fail to see the connections between profitable assets and everyday life. They fail to recognise opportunities that present themselves on a fairly regular basis. But the wealthy have trained themselves to spot these opportunities when they present themselves and act upon them.
The reality of life is that it doesn't matter so much where you are at the moment. What matters more is where you are going, your destination, your target.
Going from class to wealth starts with a decision and the belief that you can do so. Once this decision has been made, an important step has been taken that gets you closer to your ultimate goals of control, maximum freedom and independence.
There are several other important things in life besides work and money. Passions, relationships, the world, adventure and health. Having to devote all our time and efforts working for money because we just have to ensures these other important aspects of life suffer.
But you have the option of enjoying a balanced life without having to worry about money and that's what going from class to wealth affords you.
Of course everyone is different. Everyone will have different goals in life and different perspectives on what their ideal life will look like. But we all generally want to ensure that we live a life of maximum fulfilment, happiness, and peace.
And when you dig into it, achieving this may not be as far beyond your reach as you might have once thought.
