7 Ways to Bring Out the Dollars in You

It is my firm belief that everyone is capable of providing value. Everyone has knowledge in an area that is worth money to others, that people will gladly pay for. This knowledge doesn’t necessarily have to be business related. Maybe you've learnt via experience some good techniques to read and retain information better or you know ways to better manage one's time. Regardless of how non-business you think your knowledge is, I can assure you this stuff has a monetary value to someone else, even several people. And if that's the case, then there is no reason not to sell that expertise to them. This is why I’ve said that everyone has inherent value.

If directly charging for your knowledge makes you uncomfortable, there are still other ways you can monetize your knowledge or skill. You can teach, speak or write about it and sell. You can even give it away for free as a front end strategy to build traffic and credibility which you can leverage to sell products or services.

In this day and age of the internet where you have access to a global market at literally the click of a mouse, there's no justifiable reason not to leverage the knowledge and skills that you have to get what you want. Just about everyone, even physically handicapped people can make either big money or decent on-the-side money by selling what they know.

Below are 7 ways you can literally create dollars out of thin air by selling what you know:-

1 Consulting: a consultant is "an expert" in a particular field who works as an advisor either to a company or to another individual. As I said at the very beginning, everyone has knowledge in an area that is worth money to others. In other words, everyone is an expert and so it follows that everyone can be a consultant. All you need to discover is what your particular gift is. You could be very comfortable working with computers. Perhaps you keep abreast with the latest software and hardware information, which seems to be changing almost daily? Then find a way to demonstrate that knowledge to potential clients who are in need of it and you would have no issues being a computer consultant.

2 Creation and sale of information products: An information product is simply a resource that contains information. The particular format is at your discretion. Using free tools available online, you could easily distill your knowledge into an e-book and put up for sale. Alternatively, a video or audio course may be created around your area of specialty.

3 Teaching and Giving speeches: Yeah the good old fashioned teaching! It still works as a viable method of making money by teaching and giving speeches on your areas of knowledge and expertise.

4 Making videos: Indeed, one of the most efficient ways to display knowledge and make money is by creating video tutorials. Teach people something useful. Walk them through it. Hold their hands. Step-by-step tutorials are very effective. The better you are at this, and the more value you provide, the quicker you can brand yourself, boost your visibility, and ultimately, your sales. Youtube has made it very easy to make videos and post online. You may make videos in which you talk about your knowledge and skills. Consistently doing this will brand you as an expert, as someone who is indeed knowledgeable about chosen issues. You may then leverage this to sell deeper techniques on said knowledge or even other products and services.

5 Blogging: You can start a blog where you regularly blog about your knowledge, passions and skills. There are several ways your blog can make you money. If you've got an information product already, then your blog is an excellent marketing tool to sell your products. And if you haven't a product, then you can market your services directly. You may also simply use your bloggings to build up traffic after which you sell advertising spaces to other marketers who may be interested in your audience.

6 Public displays and performances: Although, similar to teaching and giving speeches, this is more specific to those whose knowledge or skills are artistic in nature. Are you a really skilled musician or dancer? Then you can make money by providing entertainment publicly. I know of someone who makes a nice income monthly dancing for telecommunication companies.

7 Social Media: One of the most powerful methods you can use to display your knowledge and make money is social media. Depending on the platform, you can reach a very specific audience and you can do it very easily. You can target by interest, age, relationships status, geographic location, and so much much more.

Social media can lead to impressive results as the capacity it has for posts to go viral means you can reach a large audience relatively quickly. This is a great place to convey the entrepreneurial journey. Even as you teach and educate, talk about your stories and challenges. People generally are drawn to these things.

Bringing out the dollars in you really is all about getting the word out about your knowledge, skills and areas of expertise. Everyone is an expert, everyone has knowledge worth money to others. Get the word out, and watch the dollars flow!
